Is it normal that my period is two months late, but all prgtests say negative ?

Hello. My period is two months late. I last got it first week of June, (it runs every 35 days). The past few months I have been eating extremely unhealthy & have been very stressed out due to personal problems. I was a vegetarian for over a year and a half & have also recently started eating meat regularly. My doctor says that this & my unhealthy eating has caused weight gain, acid reflux & other gastro issues. My boyfriend & I never have unprotected sex, nevertheless does he ever "finish" inside of me (sorry for tmi). I have tried numerous pregnancy tests & all have read negative. I also went to a clinic to get a formal pregnancy test (vs an at home test) done, & it also read negative. I have been extremely nervous, although almost everyone I speak to claim it's just my extreme diet change & stress since when I first became a vegetarian, my period also skipped for two months or so. What could this really be ? Is it just my diet ? Is it a yeast infection ? Is it my stress ?

It's either the diet/stress you spoke of or just simply an irregular period. Mine was once three months late. It was awesome. I spent the entire summer cramp free and saved money from not having to buy max pads.

I think the first thing you need to do is stop stressing so much over it. Stress doesn't help anything! If you took numerous pregnancy tests and even went to the doctors for one, and they all came back negative then you now know that is not the cause. It could be your diet change and stress, like you said. Have you ever had irregular periods? That's also a possibility. You're okay. :) I voted normal.

It's possible to get a negative result from a home pregnancy test when you're actually pregnant. This is known as a false-negative — and it's much more likely to occur than a false-positive. You might get a false-negative if you: take the test too early, check the test results too soon, and use diluted urine. Anyway, if you are TTC you should consider reading ‘The Getting Pregnant Plan’ by Michelle Adams from http://aboutgettingpregnant.com. The 200 pages of information contained in the book will not only help you accurately and swiftly pinpoint your ovulation, boosting your fertility, understanding changes in the female body and so on, but the folks on the website will also guide you through your use of the book until you successfully conceive. It's really amazing that they still maintain communication with me after having bought the book for 7 months. They consistently helped me throughout my pregnancy.

Lol, second UPDATE: two days after I wrote that last post (the one above this), I got my period. All's good ! The BC seems to have regulated it.

UPDATE: it's been four & a half months now, still no period. Took a few more doctor PTs & all still negative, plus absolutely no symptoms. Pretty much eradicated that as the cause for my missed period. Doctor says it's most likely just my stress / unhealthy eating / eating meat again. I got put on BC & was told the fourth week on it should start my period. It's half way into the fourth week & still no period, although now I'm getting clear/whitish very wet discharge. I looked this up & apparently the discharge is common before the period. So fingers crossed I finally get it sometime the rest of this week. Doctor says if my period is still missing after two more months (after starting the BC meaning one more month from now) that we'll need to check internally. Geez, didn't know my body was so sensitive.

  • Sigh.

If pregnancy is something you're worried about, get yourself on birth control. It will fix the missed period issue too.

You're turning into a male, I'd like to see the look on the faces of all the boys that ever had a crush on you XD

Pregnancy isn't the only things that can prevent a period. When I used to have anorexia, it was very common to not have my period for months.

Why don't you try the China Diet? It's the traditional Chinese diet. Vegetables and rice take the centre of the meal, while things like meat, are not the main focus. They are more like accents. There are many veggies that should have an adequate amount of iron. Drink water.

I really do think that this is due to your health issues, stress and poor diet.

My friend went vegetarian for a year and then she went back to meat and actually felt better again. She had problems with her period while she was a vegetarian. Maybe you have PCOS?

Stress can cause you to miss periods.

You need to relax abit. Periods are sometimes irregular, nothing you can do about that except going on the pill which you probably don't want to do if you haven't already.

There lies a delicate balance between two female hormones, and when that balance is upset it can cause irregular periods. The balance gets upset easily, even by stress and the things you mentioned above.

You shouldn't be so stressed over something you can't control. Your periods are pretty much going to do their own thing unless you choose to manipulate them with hormonal birth control, which wouldn't be such a bad idea anyway, if you were afraid pregnancy might have occured.

    Why not just be safe?
