Is it normal that my partner is 3 years older than me?

So, I'm turning 18 in a couple days(I hope it's okay that I'm already on here lol) and my partner is gonna be 21 in a few months. We have been together for about 8 months, no sex lol though in my country the age of consent is 16, and it's not like we're gonna be intimate any time soon. I'm kinda in college and they are too, we're working part/full time depending on other things and financially are in the same boat except me having health problems often has consequences. What I would love is an advice from older people if I'm right pursuing this relationship. I've never been happier tbqh but I don't know if I should be.

The rule for men is half your age plus 7. So if the guy is 21, the right age for his girlfriend would be 17.5.
