Is it normal that my parents buy everything for my brother but not for me??

It has always been like this but now its increasing I have to argue and cry for just a t-shirt and he can buy expensive jackets and everything. I love photography and my parents are not buying me a simple camera but he got permission to buy an expensive hard drive.My parents have not even given me a cell phone.I'm an 18yr old girl. Is all this normal?

    Maybe they love him more since he is a male. I am not saying this to be mean. Just some parents tend to do this sometimes. Since they value boys as more valuable. I am sorry they treat you this way.

    Unfortunently this is normal. My mom was the same way with my younger brother & it's because your the oldest & your brother is still the baby. It's not fair

    If you're 18, you're old enough to get a job and buy your own cameras, or whatever. Get a job and stop bitching. Once your parents see you're industrious and your brother is a freeloader, they'll see the error of their ways.
