Is it normal that my neighbors and i argue through the walls?

So I was watching Celebrity Name Game, and then I opened a bag of cool ranch doritos, and on my tenth chip one of the ladies from upstairs yelled "Stop eating those damn chips!". So I yelled "Stop playing that damn bass!". And she shut up.But is it normal that we argue through the walls like this? I'd like to add that she obviously wasn't playing the bass at that time (or anything, she could have turned on the tv that I've heard before) since she wouldn't have heard me snacking like a person who was raised with manners on chips.
