It's normal that you wanna shout at her for that. I mean, that's your real dad that she's talking about.

I don't know why your parents aren't together anymore, but maybe he did something really hurtful that you don't know of, that she unfortunately has not forgotten, or forgiven him for. But still, that's no excuse for her to verbally bash him right infront of you like that. Whatever happened, it was something between her and him, you should not have to be subject to her bitterness.

Maybe you should talk with her about it. Tell her that it hurts you when she puts your dad down the way she does. And explain to her that you aren't taking sides, but you don't think what she's doing is right.

  • That happens to me all the time soof you ask me it's very normal. When real parents aren't together it's usually because they don't like eachother. So of course their current spouse will be better. I feel your painbut get used to it.

She probably has good reasons to like and respect your new dad more but its very possible that your real dad loves, respects, and treats you better. Anyways, I think this is normal and it is normal for you to get upset and want to say shut up. You could just tell her you don't appretiate it when she says that or ask her why she says it.
