Is it normal that my mom still uses baby bottles for my 8 year old siblings?

You read that right. Baby bottles, like with the rubber nip on the end for feeding babies their milk. My two siblings still drink out of those and I've confronted my mom about it and she INSISTS to keep doing it and truly believes its completely OK. I cannot find anyway to make her see the error of her ways because she has the goddamn maturity of a middle schooler.

The thing with baby bottles with the rubber nips is so babies can feel like they're sucking their mother's breasts even when they're not. In that sense for an 8 year to still be using these is sick

Sounds like your mom has attachment issues.

This is not good at all! She is going to cause them major neurological issues! Is there a way that you can get someone to intervene? Like consulting a therapist for help. Did your mother do this with you as child or this a relatively new habit of hers? Alternatively, you can try to contact the authorities, but, perhaps, this should be a last result. That is, if you couldn't get outside professional help. Do your other relatives know? Perhaps, you could ask them for their thoughts on this and if they'll help you. Good Luck.

I also had to deal with this and it is not in anyway a new habit. I had bottles till I was 6 because a dentist convinced my mom it was giving me dental problems (Damn her cause of that). And some relatives no but they don't really react strongly to it at all, they usually say something like not to worry about it or to mind my own business.

ok you can compromise and see if by 9-10 she can graduate to sippy cups.

I think she's in denial that her 'babies' are growing up. Out of interest at what age did you stop drinking from baby bottles?

If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about it, pretty soon your siblings will start to feel self-concious about behaviour they perceive to be babyish and will stop of their own accord.

I stopped (or more accurately, she stopped) with the bottles around 6 - 7 years of age. It was because of that that I got bullied extensively for several years in my life because I was too sheltered and shit.

Does she shove the bottles up her cunt?

I think this has gone way too far. It should stop immediately for the mental health of your siblings, even if it means going to the authorities about it. Your siblings are in real mental jeopardy from this woman.
