Is it normal that my list of bands to look up is longer than the number...

of bands that I actually listen to? I have a list in my phone of bands that I want/plan to look up and there's quite a lot (at least 10+), yet there's only a few select bands that I actually love enough to call myself a fan and buy merch of.

I like to blame my limited-data internet plan because usually looking up only 6 albums from one band uses it all up for the month, but most of the time I'm just too lazy and obsessed with the current stuff I listen to to look up new music. Anyone else do this?

I've got 172 artists in my spotify playlist. I listen to about a third of that regularly, some occasionally and the rest I put there to listen to later.

When I find a band I like I exhaust the backcatalouge for weeks or months then check out similar artists at last fm, all while bands i've been meaning to check out like okkervil river stay in my uncharted section of spotify. I would check them out but i've been listening to nothing but sparklehorse's first 3 albums all week
