Is it normal that my internet service costs this much?

Around where I live it's between 30 and 60 dollars per month for decent internet. I'm wondering how much others are paying in other areas and if anybody gets it for free. I think it's a rip off personly.

Well, in Romania, it is actually somewhere around 12 dollars/month for TV cable with 132 channels + 13 HD channels and very high speed internet. 1000mbps, plus it came with a free ONT, which is not usual around here. I have noticed that they limit the download and upload speed though. 6.5MB/s is really low. Since I bought a Wi-Fi router and connected my computer to the router I get even 11-12MB/s

What kind of speeds are you considering 'decent?'

I'm getting 75Mbps for $45 where I live. It's the fastest internet I've ever had.

Quit bitching and praise Neptune you get internet at all. Very often internet down here is us$50.00 a month or more, for dial up speeds, if we can even connect at all.

Oh my. How original! Just how many threads did you have to search to find that old one, just so you could copy it here?

    • So how do you get internet at sea?

At sea, some use a satellite system through their sat phone, but that's way, way expensive.
When anchored out I have a radio receiver (it makes a hot spot on the boat) which can connect me to an access point as far as a couple of miles away.
