Is it normal that my guy friend tries to become friends with all my friends?

I have a guy friend who is like my best friend. we've been really close for like ten years now. He has his own group of friends from before we met. they are mostly girls. I don't really hang out with them. We have a mutual group of friends and we both hang out with them. then i have friends that i hang out with on my own. Whenever i start hanging out with a guy friend, my best friend always has to become friends with him too. he has to make it a point to hang out with any new guy friend i make and not invite me. then tell me about it. he says its because he doesnt have a lot of guy friends. i want to tell him to make his own then because he gets his own group of friends to hang out with without me, but i dont get my own group of friends. am i being paranoid about this?

    Yeah, I think you are.
He wants more guy friends. There is nothing wrong with that. He has a hard time making guy friends, but you don't, and you being friends with them makes it a lot easier for him to become friends with them, ergo, you being friends with them makes it easier for him to have guy friends.

    So loosen up.

That's odd. Usually a guy is interested in his friends' female friends as that could potentially result in him getting some action.
