Is it normal that my ex started talking to me after 1 year of breaking up?

On Friday I went to a party and my ex boyfriend (which broke up with me a year ago) was there. In the middle of the party he sent me a friend request on Facebook and I accepted it. I got drunk and he got drunk and we ended up talking. We were both locked up on a bathroom and we were talking about random stuff and he asked me for my snapchat and I gave it to him (we didnt kiss, we just talked) We have been talking on snapchat since then. It's just weird that all of the sudden he started talking to me when he didn't even looked at me this past year. Are exs supposed to to that? Im confused...

      It was something mutual, we broke up because we didnt have enough time to see eachother plus my family didnt agree with our relationship. We were together for about a year...

    Yes it happens, sometimes when you see an ex after awhile it brings old memories and feelings up. Also, its easier to start talking to someone you feel comfortable with, you can pick up where you started from. Maybe seeing you reminded him of what you had. in my personal experiences it never works out the second time, there was a reason it didn't work the first time. Another time I was with an ex when I was young and became good friends years later when we were older.
