Is it normal that my dog eats whatever it finds(almost always my classwork)?

When I was in the hospital last year my dad bought a little rat bitch of a chihuahua to comfort himself. Fast forward a year later and she is a demon out of hell and destroys everything she gets her hands on. I usually get yelled at for "leaving things for her to get". Today I treated myself to a movie with a friend after writing up a lab(left it sitting on a chair in a folder in a partially unzipped backpack), when I came back home that thing had ripped up (and peed on) 2 classes worth of work and all my notes for the semester. To top it off I got yelled at by my father and nearly broke my fist in an incoherent panic attack.

    I'm probably going to get all kinds of hateful responses, but here it goes... Do you guys discipline the little rat mutt? My best friend has a chihuahua and it never does any of those shitty things.

    If you'd stop spilling your food all over your schoolwork, maybe the dog would have less interest in it.
    Alternately, you could actually zip up your back pack. Didn't you say this has been going on for the better part of a year? Somebody's a bit slow to learn things, huh?

    This is why people train dogs and cats, so they don't get bored and destroy stuff. She needs training, appropriate discipline, toys and EXERCISE!

    Actually, I hate those dogs, they were meant to be a food source in Mexico. My old boss had one and it growled and bit everyone except her even her husband and kid! Who the hell wants an ugly little bad-tempered gremlin...
