Is it normal that my comments sometimes don't show up until hours later?

I'm aware that links can be auto-moderated, but sometimes my comments just don't show up for a few hours. IIN?

    Some comments are, too. Thing is, there doesn't seem to be any consistency - some people will get auto-modded for something (often something innocent) while others will be allowed to post the exact same word.

    It baffles me as to how this could be anything but intentional
