Is it normal that my boyfriend spends more time playing video games than before

Before me and my boyfriend got together, he was an avid gamer. When we got together, it was great because we would talk a lot and spend time together. Now that we've been going out for a year now, he seems like he wants to spend less time with me and more time playing video games. It's just making me feel a little pushed aside cuz sometimes I just wanna talk for a bit or something. I understand he likes games and I don't mind him playing but lately I feel like he's been brushing me aside more to play and i feel like im boring and annoying everytime. Are my feelings irrational and selfish? Idunno. Makes me feel like breaking up with him for some weird reason even tho I don't want to at alll because I love him very much ! Is this normal that he wants to play more than spend time like we used to?

    It's a very strong addiction - just like many others :o( My husband is a tradesman who often has to work around men who are playing on the xbox etc. I think they should be ashamed!! At some point they need to grow up and get a life.

    If computer games are more important than you, don't hang around to be ignored. He may waste his life but don't you waste yours watching him. He may wake up if he thinks he might lose you.

      How dare people have fun! You're right, they should be ashamed of enjoying themselves. Enjoyment should be restricted to only children, and when you're an adult you should only think about how much you hate your boss and how many years until your debt is payed off.

      Ot: To the poster of the story, have you ever simply just told him your feelings? Nobody will ever know something you're thinking unless you say it. Just try saying something about it before you decide to do something drastic.

    I dont think he think you are boring but maybe gaming is a stress relief and a way of feeling better for him, gaming is a way of getting a break osmetimes from what´s called life gods know that i game cause of those reasons, maybe you ashould try and join him in the gaming sometimes could be fun, and if you feel pushed aside maybe talk to him for a bit that you need his quality attention sometimes.

    You probably are boring and annoying. Sometimes when I'm trying to play games I wish my wife would just shut the hell up. I'm sure he likes spending time with you, but don't bore him with details of your life that he doesn't need to know. I hate it when my wife tells me some long story about her day that has absolutely no point or interesting details.

      Thats dreadful! Even if I wasn't interested (which I am), I would take the time to listen to my partners day, he needs to get it out of his system and its simple courtesy to be interested in what your partner has to say. We are both gamers, but still allow time for each other.

        Talk to me after you're married for five or six years and tell me how interested you are to hear about their day at that point. It's not that I'm not interested in her at all, I could just go without all of the boring details.

          I was with my ex for 11 years and maintained respectful towards them and their work/day throughout our relationship. I am the same with my partner now and we have been together a number of years.

          The details may be boring for you but possibly not for her, that works both ways. We could all do without 'boring details' but you know....there isn't a delete button for parts of conversations.

    games is one of the many forms of art out there. it is colorful, fun, addicting, ect. it is a way to get away from all the worlds problems out their. there is nothing wrong with gaming. i am a gamer. it is amazing
