Is it normal that my boyfriend is alright with his friends insulting me?

My boyfriend (we've been together for over 3 years now) has some really strange friends. They make fun of me, insult me and do really offensive prank calls to my parents, too. My boyfriend knows about it and is just laughing with them instead of being on my side and defending me. I'm not quite sure If I'm just overreacting and that behavior is not as bad as I see it - like he said. I just want to see how other people think about this..

You aren't overreacting; he's being an ass, and his friends are even worse. Why do you put up with that, especially when they're even bothering your parents?

You should be more selective about who you pick for a boyfriend

You're not overreacting. That's bullshit. Tell his friends to quit it, tell him to tell them to quit and if he won't keep them in line then break up with him. Obviously, he has no respect for you or your family.

He's obviously talking shit about you to his friends and he's also given tacit approval for them to insult you. Either because he's a pussy and doesn't want to lose his friends or he's as much of an asshole as they are.

What I don't get is how you're being the willing participant in this orgy of ridicule/hate directed against you? Break up with him, but before you do, make sure you insult the shit out of all of them first-do it when they least expect it.

Reminds me of this very beautiful girl I used to know in high school who dated and had a kid with a guy who turned out to be mentally and physically abusive towards her-he was basically a bully.

She used to cry a lot and I tried to help her get out of that relationship but she still stayed with him. Can't help those who don't want to be helped.

Anyone who does that deserves to be alone. I don't know anything about you but still, you deserve better than that no one should have to put up with that. What an arse

first off, how old is he? idk i feel like some men won't address there friends directly at first because they don't want to look like there "whipped" or something. honestly if it bothers you, you need to sit down and talk to him, then I'm sure he would address his friends to speak nicer to you. because they are being rude!

He's just worried about losing his "friends". Plus if they're the age im thinking of and if your the age im thinking of theyre to old to be doing prank calls like a freshman. (no offense to mature freshman but what am i talking about there shouldnt be any freshnan on here..) tell him to either lose his friends or lose you.

If he cared about your feelings he would be a man, grow some balls, and stick up for you.

You obviously consider yourself a loser and have very low self-esteem. Most women would have dumped that asshole of a boyfriend and his bunch of jackass friends long ago. Act like a woman, stop taking his and their shit and dump his freaking ASS!

If a guy can't stand up for his girl...especially to his mates then he doesn't deserve her. Its really that simple...
