Is it normal that my boyfriend broke up with me because our sex was too rough?

He had a problem staying hard. He said he had always had the problem with his other girlfriend. So we revved up the sex and it became a little rough (No violence, he just made me sore). I had to stop him during sex sometimes because he became too rough. He seemed to like it a lot. But then he changed towards me. He started joking with me and saying "Are you my concubine?" and "Are you my call girl?" "I'll pay you $100.00 a night". He would laugh about it. He even called me a "witch" because he began to feel obsessive about our sex.

Then he broke up with me and went back to his "good girl" girlfriend who he had had impotency problems with. Is this normal? Was it my fault for letting him get rough with me? Or is it not normal, and he just has an unhealthy view of women?

    Sounds like you're better off without him. Obviously he was still into the other girl the whole time. It seems to me he just wanted to live out this fantasy before he committed to her.

    Neither.

    Rough sex - even playing that your partner is a hooker - is fine... IF you both consent to it and like it.

    However, it doesn't sound as if you were totally on board with it. I mean it sounds like you enjoyed that he was finally hard, but not what he had to do to get there.

    So perhaps instead of worrying about what you could have done to keep him.... why not ask yourself what you want in a partner?
