Is it normal that my best friend is in love with me?

So a few months ago my best friend told me she had a crush on this girl, but she want to tell me who it was. The only thing she told me about her was that she was a friend of hers and I told her if I guessed the friend right she would have to tell me.
I went through our whole list of friends that day and still had no clue who she was talking about until couple of days later after that conversation. It had to be me. My best friend is really clingy and has to do everything with me, but she isn't the same with our other friends. She likes to buy absolutely everything for me. When she's drunk she's always saying 'I'm in love with someone I can never have'. I don't know what do to because if I tell her I know it's me I know it will ruin our friendship. It's also difficult because one of my friends yesterday also guessed her feelings for me. I'm don't feel that way about her and I don't know what to do.

    hmmm, usually girls like to keep around guys who they know like them, for the same reasons that you described. They will always be super nice to you and buy you things. I guess it's different if that person is of the same sex? Idk what makes the two situations different.

    Same thing happened to me when I was in high school except it was just a casual friend. I didn't know what to do either and when she confessed I just sort of ignored it. I felt really bad afterwards and regret handling it that way. All you can do in this situation is be honest and tell her the feeling isn't mutual and that you only see her as a friend. How she handles that is up to her.
