Is it normal that married/attached women don't like to stay out late w/friends?

I've noticed that among my female friends who are married or dating someone, they tend to want to come home early from a girls' night out. They act like they will turn into pumpkins if they don't get home to their SO's by 9 or 10 PM. It's almost like they have a self-imposed curfew. But most of the married or taken guys I know are more than happy to stay out after midnight with their guys. My husband is like this, and I don't mind it a bit. I like hanging out late with the girls, too, but none of the women my age (late twenties) are interested in that. Is it normal for women who are dating or married not to like to spend as much time hanging out with their female friends? Why do some women not enjoy girls' night out as much as most guys seem to enjoy guys' night out?

the later it gets, the more likely you are to cheat, or your significant other to think you are up to no good. lots of insecure jealous types.

The answer to this is beyond me. I will ask my Frau when she returns from her dastardly duties.

  • I'd be pissed if my gf was out that late, and she would be pissed at me.

I'm old fashioned, BEFORE you get married you can do pretty much anything that fancies you, even getting home a 6am and sleeping in. Once you are married there is someone else to considre besides yourself. I think this is the reason there is such a high divorce rate in this country. There is no respect for the person you married and you think you can still act "SINGLE". You are married, go home and mop the floor or change a diaper. Fun, "single" time is OVER. Grow up.

I agree with you that husbands and wives should respect each other. But how is staying out late with the guys/gals inconsiderate if both parties have agreed that it's OK ? Maybe their circumstances are favorable to that type of lifestyle (i.e. they have no children). I'm not really looking at the right or wrong of the issue, just trying to figure out why men do this more than women.

I think alot of women in their late twenties just sort of lose interest in staying out with the girls all night.
But hey, I'm barely 21 so that's just a total guess.
