Is it normal that lemon juice helps to lighten hair and how much do you use?

Heey guys, I'm a blonde and wanting to know if using lemon juice really helps to lighten it and make it blonder..? Is it a myth or does it really work, if so...How much and how many times roughly do I do the treatment? PS: I squashed lemon juice and put it into a spray bottle, then I sat in the sun and let it dry, it feels weird and coarse now that it has dried...do I wash it out?

    • yeah! My mum just told me other day, I think il try that too...Do u know if I let it dry then take the lemon juice off or do I just leave it on all day..something like that? I have googled it and there are so many different ways to going about it that I am not sure which way would be the best.

It's true. I used to use Sun In and made my hair a reddish-brown colour for a while.

It really does lighten your hair, it's not a myth(:
Just use enough to wet all of your hair, and sit in the sun. If you can't sit in the sun, a hair dryer will work fine, too. After it's all dry wash it out and condition it. The lightening is pretty permanent. If it gets dull at all just do it again.

No problem (: I use to do it to my hair in the summer when I was younger. Now I just bleached the shit out of it, which is a LOT more damaging haha. Good luck (:

        • aw true, yeah I would rather not ever bleach my hair as I have heard that it does dramatically ruin your hair...that's why I would like to try the natural way. Thanks for your help :)

You should do it once a week. The lemon juice dying can dry your hair out so its best to use a deep conditioner after each lemon treatment. It may take a few weeks to see any actual results.

A friend of mine once did it and it lasted about two months on his hair, so I'll say maybe two months?
