Is it normal that im dating my teacher?

So my teacher and I have been dating for a little less than month and its the best thing that Ive ever been apart of. Although weve only been together for a short while, Ive honestly loved her since the moment I met her five years ago.She is intelligent (she was valedictorian and went to an Ivy League college) and she's caring. She so interesting to just be around. Sometimes we just sit for 45 minutes and do nothing but talk and drink hot chocolate. Im with her sometimes for an hour and a half after school ends, just talking, because being around her makes me feel better about everything. Shes funny, especially when she isnt trying to be. The moment her face lights up with laughter I cant help but light up too. Just seeing her in class can make my entire day worth getting out of bed. But heres the problem...shes married with kids. Im happy for her for being married and im sure she loves her kids but Im so happy...we both are. Help?

You know, if you love her, let her go. If she truly loves you back, she'll follow you and leave her other family, to start a new one with you.

    • That seems so black and white. Rash even. I'm looking for something gentler I suppose? For the children...

Dude... I've been having to fend one of mine off with a stick for almost a year now. and the fact that I just got stuck in a class with just TWO others in it with her... Is not good. She's the same way, top of her class at Harvard. Has her doctoral in human anthropology. She's like a tiny little bones lol. Intimidatingly smart and good looking. But she's my goddamn teacher. And it's been going back and fourth for a while now. She'd send me emails of a personal nature after Id send in my assignments or articles and stuff relating to em. Until one day she told me to stay after class and she told me some really uncomfortable shit like "I've worked here for a few years now And never run into a student with the level of insight you have on (seemingly) everything I bring up." Then she proceeded to ask me for my phone number. I gave it to her, not knowing what I was REALLY a getting myself into....

I think you need to end the relationship. If she's married, it can't really go anywhere and what if her husband finds out?

I understand, but we all must do things we don't like.

        • But I graduate next year and we've come up with a fool proof system of seeing each other and I don't see much going wrong, or even having the chance to. Can I not just wait until then?

            1. There is no such thing as "foolproof"
            2. Define "don't see much", how much shit is going wrong?

Well do whatever you feel like doing (though I personally disagree with dating one's teacher), if you feel like taking the risk do it. Good luck.

            • I meant I just don't see how much could go wrong with the set up we've got going

    • Weve only had sex once and that was long before the start of our actual relationship.
