Is it normal that if i repeat a word in my head several times in a row,

When I repeat a word in my head several times in a row, i forget what the word means for a few seconds? Why does this happen to me?

    Haha, yes! Some sort of psychology at work there, but it happens to me all the time. Maybe because in repeating the word and thus hearing it many times at once it makes us remember that all words are is silly little sounds that we use to try to convey things that don't want to be pinned down with words. Even though we need language to communicate our ideas, the word falls so much short of the actual thing, especially when you're dealing with abstracts and ideas. Lol, now I'm just rambling..
