Is it normal that i would rather accept a wrong order than say something?

I have always been a timid person. In restaurants, if the waiter mishears my order ( and it's not something I hate) I won't say anything, is this normal? Even when he comes by to ask if everything is alright, I still won't say anything. Same with if he refills my drink with the wrong drink ( like giving me root beer when I originally had Pepsi).

I know I'm paying for the food, so it should be what I ordered, but im really just to timid to speak up unless it's a huge price difference ( I.e. ordering lobster but getting a burger).

So, is this normal?

If I got root beer instead of Pepsi I'd kiss them on the lips. Anything else, I'd tell them. Unless it seemed yummy enough. I can do with unexpected change if my heart wasn't set on my original order.

Always speak what you feel; people easily take advantage of that. You're the only one who's going to be in a disadvantage, it'll be your lost. For instance if you have a dollar bill and you ask what to do with it, someone tells you to rip it. The reason they say that is because it’s not their money, it doesn’t affect them if you hurt yourself, they are just bystanders. So always think if the choices you make will hurt you in the long run or give you strengths. If you are timid with food I'm sure you'll be timid in many other things like love, work and relationships. And it will only be your loss if you lose something precious because of your timid attitude; correct you're bad qualities and replace them with better ones. When people find out they can use you they'll eat you alive, don’t let that happen.

I'm timid too, but I'd at least try to tell them. Just be as polite you can be. If you're rude or make a scene they'll fuck up your food in the back.

Lol I know what you mean. If you advise them politely that something is not up to par with what you wanted, let them know. I have had friends in the restaurant business and they say it makes a big difference in the way they are told that something is the matter. If you go rudely about the wrong service and demand a new plate, I suggest you do not even eat from it. If you were courteous, polite, and did not make a scene, have no fear in speaking your mind.

  • I went to Dennys or IHOP one day with bfs family and they messed a shitload up. Momma bear took the reins and told the waiter. Felt a little bad for the guy because there were about 4 things wrong with the food. I ordered sunny side up eggs and they were practically not even cooked. It would have been like eating it right out of the shell...not sure if that's how they eat them but not where I'm from!

Someone else got something completely different from what they ordered, (I think it was a burrito) and he (or someone) forgot another half of someone else's meal. Then I think there was something wrong with mommas drink. ^^

I'm a regular at a restaurant, and one of the waiters always brings me the "wrong" kind of egg rolls. I've never said anything because they're still absolutely delicious, and I kind of like the variety it provides. Also, I'm pretty awkward about that sort of thing… so I just let it go. As long as it's not something you're allergic to or not going to enjoy, I don't see the big deal with letting is slide and avoiding the whole situation.

Usually I'll correct it, but if it's something I like or can live with I do like to try to keep it that way, simply because it's a shame that the food simply gets thrown away if it's wrong.

It depends on how much its messed up but unfortunately you have to be wary of things like that. You never know when the waitress or cook s in a shit mood and decide to hock a loogie in your food. Bastards

It's normal to be this way, but it isn't a good thing. Someone could take advantage of you or do something really, really wrong that way. You should always speak up for yourself instead of letting someone subtly walk all over you. You don't need to be rude or arrogant, there are nicer ways of saying and doing things.

    Ay yi yi, no way!!

I hate complaining about food just because I don't want them to put boogers in it or something but fuck, I'm not going to pay for some shit I didn't want.

Once I complained about a sandwich I ordered, they put it on rye bread which was just fucking WRONG, it was supposed to be sourdough bread. Not only was it on rye bread but they also gave me the goddamn end piece of bread, that's just something you don't do, especially at a restaurant!! The waitress tries to tell me that I was crazy and that's how the sandwich was supposed to be. I said fuck no it isn't!! Then I found out the real reason why she was like that, it was because they were out of sourdough bread and just didn't want to admit it. I wish they had just told me, hey, we got no sourdough bread....instead of trying to pull some stupid scheme on me. I would've just ordered a different item. Fucking assholes. I won't ever go back there again, for that and because they quit giving out free refills on sodas. Fuck 'em. Oh yeah, save 10 cents by not giving out free refills but lose a whole family of customers. Yeah, good payoff. Assholes. Hope that works out for ya, stupid Neptune Diner.
