Iin, that i would happily trade my humanity to not make work mistakes?

Making mistakes at work sucks. You lose the respect of your co-workers, and your boss gets on your case - and THAT causes you to make more f**cking mistakes.
If making mistakes is part of being "human" then I don't like being human very much. I'd happily submit to whatever genetic modifications, brain implants, or even total replacement of my body with artificial components if it meant I could just do my job and not f**k up. If I knew it would make me stop making work mistakes, I'd happily take a pill that made me permanently and irreversibly sexually impotent. Anyone else on board for this?

Dont be so hard on yourself, it is normal to make mistakes. If your making a lot of them, and they are dumb ones, probably take a look at that. It might be that your young, and learning. When you need to worry is when you don't learn from your own mistakes, they call that being crazy.

    • Of course, if you're NOT all that young, and under stress/pressure you tend to repeat mistakes, then maybe it's time for a .357 slug to your right temple.

Everyone makes mistakes, even your co-workers make mistakes. It's not like everyone DOESN'T make mistakes because that just means you aren't human.

    Wow...

I can really see where you are coming from! I hate Capitalism (sadly, as we know, Communism doesn't work). I just want to say, please don't wish all your humanity away. We have to obey and appease Capitalism to an extent, but I think it's better to find a compromise, sacrificing enough of one's humanity to survive but conserving precious private aspects of it to keep oneself sane.

One of the things that cold, ruthless Capitalism does not permit is vulnerablity. I suggest that to improve your performance at work you try and block out any worries you have of how potential mistakes could make you or others feel about you. Just work methodically to the best of your ability and try to /suspend/ your humanity, whilst keeping in mind that there is nothing wrong with being human, it's the system that is cruel and harsh. I find it also helps to try and keep a sense of perspective. You will have other jobs. Maybe even look for another one you feel you could adapt more easily to? This job, moving bits of matter around or whatever, is not important in the grand scheme of things. If you fuck up, no matter what your boss says (and many bosses who suck at their jobs will have stupid unrealistic expectations), it's not your fault! Just try your best.

Remember if you (seek to) destroy all your humanity you are turning yourself into the robot that these greedy soulless corporations will one day replace you with. By saying that I am not putting all the blame on senior staff, but the whole MACHINE of the company, whose "hopes" are usually very different to those of its component human beings. It almost takes on a life of its own and all it wants to do is make money, it will push the legal and moral boundaries to do so. It's not your fault. It's the fault of the system. Gd luck

Making mistakes at work, or anywhere, is pretty lame. I hate it, too. I don't know if I would trade my humanity for it, but pretty close. Mistakes are how we learn, but they can be very embarrassing and painful sometimes :-(
