Is it normal that i wonder if people online know that i farted?

Is it normal that whenever I play MMORPGS/any other social or multiplayer thing and I break wind/fart/pass gas irl, I think that other character's players near me can smell it? It's just a reoccurring thought that I have. I know they'd think I was crazy if I asked them if they could smell my fart....
