Is it normal that i was offered a one way open relationship by my bf?

So my boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years now and 6 months ago he moved cross country for college while I stayed at home for school. recently he told me that he didnt want to "deprive" me of that college relationship exploration or shall I say he wants me to feel sexually satisfied and because of our distance he cant do that so he told me he would be ok if I had sex with other people. He also said that this does not apply to him, only me. I dont know what to do because I only want to do it with the person Im dating yet I still have that desire that I want to fulfill. Is it silly to brake off a relationship solely on distance when we still "deeply" love each other?

So he's found someone off at collage, huh. Now is trying to get you to date other men so he doesn't feel guilty. Oldest trick in the book.

    • he just started school this week though... while he moved 6 months ago, he applied too late and didnt get in for the fall semester... he knew absolutely no one up until now. Would he still be lying?

From a mans prospective "seeing other people" means. I already found someone I want to have sex with. Because when you love something you don't want anyone else fucking it.

I believe he is trying to let you down easily. Offering you your freedom is a two sided coin which I take to mean he wants his, too.
Sorry, but it's time to take him up on his offer and if you two are meant to be together, it will happen if and when you are at least in the same town again.

    There's a possibility he's being legit.
Some people are able to put the happiness of people they care about before their own.
Maybe he'd prefer you see someone else in the interim rather than lose you for good...
In saying that what he offers & what will actually be OK at the end of the day may be two different things...
