Is it normal that i want to use a surrogate mom?

When I get married to my boyfriend in the future (we're both in our early 20s), I'd like for us to undergo IVF (using my eggs) using a surrogate mother. I want a child with him, but I don't want to birth the child myself due to all the health risks. IIN? My bf and I also discussed adopting a second child once our first enters elementary.

I guess it's normal. However, like adoption, employing a surrogate can get quite expensive. Do a bit of research for the numbers.

It's understandable if you don't think you can carry a pregnancy to term, but I agree with the previous comment; adoption is better. An adopted child isn't biologically yours, but that doesn't mean you can't raise it like your own.

Adopting would be nice because you'd be providing a home for a child who needs a family.

That sounds fucked up, sorry it just does.

That's going to be some story to tell your kid at some point. "Well dear, I was afraid to get preggers so I let some other woman take all the health risks. You understand don't you, darling?"

    • I just think another woman would be more capable of handling it than I am. That's all. I'm also very Tokophobic.

Wouldn't the more intelligent thing to do be to get some therapy? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to tell you that you need to make babies, that's your choice. But I haven't heard of many women who'll have another woman do it for them unless it was life threatening for them and Tokophobia is hardly life threatening or incurable.
