Is it normal that i want to stay up for entertainment when i am fatigued?

I am ridiculously sleepy and I could just drop if I closed my eyes for 2 minutes. However, I want to keep doing stuff. I could have gone to sleep 5 hours ago, but now it's the AM and I still can't get enough entertainment. I am like the opposite of insomnia.

Do not scrimp on sleep. Most adults need about eight hours of sleep a night to gain the full physical, emotional, and cognitive benefits.

Concerning the latter, sleep is a sound investment of time because it aids in concentration and consolidates memories, thus fostering learning. Sleep deprivation, however, impedes learning and contributes to accidents, errors, and irritability.

Don’t fight it; roll over and give in to it. It’s not worth all the negative effects of deliberately avoiding it. Trust me you're not missing out on too much.

Been that way all my life!
As a kid my mom would say " she's tryning to stay up beacuse she feels like shes going to miss out on something"
Maybe the case then but wat now as an adult.

Ik I need to goto bed because I HATE WAKING UP INNA AM. I literally have to set my alarm like 2 and half hours before I need to get up, because I can't just jump up at the drop of a dime. Half the time I don't even remember hitting snooze.

Anywho my reg bedtime is around 3-4am and no matter even if I catch myself falling asleep, or I wake myself by dropping my phone on my face I continue to stay up. No exact reason why, because I'm bored at night anyways but that's wat I do

I get that a lot, because inside I feel I deserve more from the day. I find myself feeling like I should have some sort of pleasure, or entertainment. It reminds me of the feeling that I want desert after eating a full meal, because really and truly eating the meal is just going through the motions, but dessert is what is enjoyable.
