Is it normal that i want to name my future baby after one of my friends?

I'm only 19 now. When I'm older and ready, I want to pursue Assisted Reproduction such as IUI or IVF and have a baby (one and only). I was thinking if I have a baby girl, I'll name her Katrina (after my friend Katrina) or if I have a baby boy, I'll name him Butler (after my friend Butler). If I concieve girl/boy twins, then I'll name both my babies after my friends. Is it normal?

    Yes, but these are not good names, no offence. Connotation and symbolism is everything.

    - "Katrina" is and was a hurricane that killed many, left a large path of destruction, and cost the government a lot of money, among other things.

    - "Butler" is like naming a child "usher". It's a title of work. A butler is a subservient and submissive profession. There's also the negative connotation that if someone is killed, "the butler did it". It has the sound "but" in it which is like "butt". Due to that word and the job that entails the profession, you'd be putting that child up for slaughter. Namely, it would be bullied horribly.

    Parents should ALWAYS put a lot of time and careful consideration before naming their offspring.

    Yes, naming your babies after someone you'll eventually drift apart from is a delightful idea.

    Give your kids reasonable names and they will probably choose a nice nursing home for you.

    Connotations of those names: A hurricane and a subservient bitch to rich people.

    Bet you when you finally decide to have a baby you won't be as close to Katrina or Butler anymore, and those names will seem silly.

    Also out of curiosity, why IVF/IUI? Is that because you can't conceive normally or for another reason?
