Is it normal that i want to be in a relationship, but not with guys at school?

School is the only place that I meet guys. I'm not one of those girls that go around flaunting "guy friends" and flirt a lot, but it's not like I avoid guys completely either. I haven't had a relationship since middle school and I've asked a few guys out before but never dated one for more than a few days (turns out it was a misunderstanding). Now I have a crush on a guy that goes to my school, but I'm not sure if I should ask him out. I'm in a really small school and it feels like everyone's "judging" couples and like it's everyone's business. Is it weird that I feel that way?
Should I still ask him out? Any advice and opinions would be great. :)

I go to a small school, and it is the same way about pressuring "couples." Everyone thought I was dating this girl I had a crush on, and they were all pressuring us to date. It bothered her, and I think it ruined our chances of being together, because when I finally told her I liked her, things got bad. My advice to just ignore everything they say, and go with what you really feel. If the girl I mentioned didn't listen to what people said, who knows what could have happened to us. But if you like this guy, then go for him, and don't listen to anything anyone says about it.

Just ask him if he wants to hang out sometime. Then if it turns out you like him a lot and he likes you back too, start dating him.
