Is it normal that i've only been in one even somewhat long-term relationship?

In my entire life, I've only been in one long relationship. It was 22 months, but due to circumstances beyond our control we couldn't be around each other or even talk to each other without risking consequences, so I wouldn't call it a 'conventional' relationship by any means--we went over a year without seeing each other at all. Plus, we were 15-17 yo, so it's not like there were good odds of success anyway. I've been in several other relationships, but of the 5 others I've been in, only 2 have made it to the 1-month milestone, and I don't think those made it another week--one of the times, it wouldn't have made it that long if I'd gotten a chance to see the guy sooner, as I'd been planning to break it off for a week or two beforehand. It's like I have commitment issues or something. I'll see Facebook friends who have been in relationships for several months or even several years and I'm jealous, because I feel like I won't find anyone. I'm almost 20--I feel kinda pathetic.

For your age, this is absolutely normal.

Without your current age I don't see how anyone can answer this question.

For what it's worth, I am 23 and I, aswell, have only been in one serious relationship. It lasted seven years.

So, you're 19 and you've already been in one relationship that has lasted almost two years. That sound about right to me. Most people I know are around my age and many of them have only been in one serious relationship or none at all. At your age how many serious relationships can you expect to be in?

There's no such thing as a "long term relationship" when you are only 19-years-old.

I also think it's funny how you can refer to being in a "relationship" for one week. That's not a relationship. That's messing around with Billy one time behind the playground after school.

    • I didn't say anything about being in a relationship for a week--I said that I was in relationships barely over a month, and once it hit the 1-month mark, it'd be over with less than a week later.
