Is it normal that i think we are desperate to fit in and we have nothing else?

Smart phones, University degree's, cosmetic surgery, washing machines, job's, meth, Nutri Bullets, total gym's, Yoga, strap on's, Oxycontin, buildings, lego, plastic, laser tattoo removal, body shots, crushing pussy, marry a man, Face Book.
The only thing that a human being needs is: Oxygen Water Food.

Everything else we have invented ourselves and have brain washed ourselves into believing we need just so we can have some thing in common with other humans because we want nothing more than to fit in.

You're right; we all do have a need to fit in and belong to a group, which we will pursue after our basic needs have been met.

I'm not too sure what strap-ons have to do with fitting in (some definitely don't). Although maybe smartphones and facebook might be failed attempts to fulfill the need to fit in?

But it's true, none of the things you listed are essential for survival. Consumerism and marketing do prey on our need to be part of a group or gain group approval. And I guess for some this need is never fully met, which is how the cycle continues.

Lego and meth are just plain fun though. Fuck fitting in, herds are insane.

So of all the things I listed 'Strap on's' was the most surprising!? Strap on's are a perfect example of the desire to conform. It's the ultimate expression of males and females wanting to understand each other more so they can conform to each others desires.

Alright I have to wonder where you live is "Meth" is the daily routine for all people. You must live in the really bad ghetto is absolutely everyone is doing "Meth". Not everyone is doing it. They use to use it for factory workers most places that did this illegalized it since.

There's a difference between NEEDING and WANTING.

I don't do anything to "fit in" , which is probably why I'm receiving so much negative reactions from people around me. I honestly understand why a lot of people rather chose to conform rather than have to endure what individualists have to go through every time they leave the door.

Not that I'm that unique really, I just stand out.

    I think that's a very simplistic explanation.

People are social animals, and we have a built-in drive toward being part of a community. Most of us are happier when we're part of a community, even if we can live without it or we are introverts. It isn't brainwashing when it's built-in :P

Consumerism isn't great, but I don't think people do it just to fit in. Advertising is very clever at trying to make us feel inadequate compared to our "potential" and compared to other people. Advertising is like a manipulative partner who treats you like shit and then you stay with them because they're inside your head.

What's wrong with Tatoos! I have six of them. And I think they are very artistic looking. And received many complements on them. Hater! And I hate Iphones! GRRRRR! And just to clarify. I don't need them, I like having them.

Don't fret, OP is probably talking about bad tattoos. Some people get really wasted and end up with awful tattoos so they have to have laser tattoo removal or get a bigger tattoo to cover up the original "mistake." I'm sure OP isn't referring to your tattoos.
