Is it normal that i think religion is the biggest bullshit story in the world?

Religion has the ability to control people's minds. It has actually convinced people that there is a massive dude somewhere in the sky that is far too big for us to understand, looking down on us all and controlling everything we do.

This invisible guy in the sky has a list of 10 things he'd like you to obey. These 10 things can all be emalgamated, homogenised and consolidated into one simple, easy life motto: Don't be a dick.

If you do not obey these 10 things, and you do decide to be a dick, this invisible man in the sky has a special place where he will send you. This place is full of fire and brimstone and heavy metal and pirates and whores with big tits who will happily give you a blowjob for $10... Something I could get used to frankly, sounds like West Virginia.

But of course, despite all of these absolutely terrible things that will happen to you if you do not obey the invisible man in the sky, he will send you to the clouds to listen to harps and eat yogurt and honey if you worship him every day without fail.

He would much prefer us to sit in the clouds listening to harps and eating yogurt and honey. This is apparently because he is merciful and he loves us. The real reason is that eternal bliss gets fucking boring after a while and he needs someone to keep him company, even though none of us can see the fucker...

Is it just me or is the whole concept of religion just one big farce?

The very earliest religions weren't about control and rules. The earth and sky gave them life so they respected and worshipped accordingly.
As the human brain grew, so did the population and the need for rules, control and power. Humans like having something to believe in and people realised they could control their societies through hope, fear and superstition. Here comes organised religion.
I think the concept of religion at its core is fine, until people try to dictate their views upon society to convert, incite fear or gain power.

I'm not for sure but we're you there at the burning bush ? We're you there when Jesus was was bailed to the cross ? Or maybe you were there for his resurrection ? Oh that's right, you think it's all bs. So those days when you feel lucky to be alive, you don't ever just say to yourself "thank God for the beautiful day" or something along those lines.? I'm not very bible smart, but I do believe in God. I believe there is a heavan, and to not believe, well, I'm just glad I do.

    • Pretty sure the burning bush was a metaphor for Mary Magdalene's genital warts, as she was a massive whore.

    You are confused a bit.
    You say RELIGION.
But then only reference one sect of
    CHRISTIANITY.
The 2 are not one in the same.
    Start there, rephrase your question.
What you said has nothing to do with the other 90% religious sects in this world.

Ideological religion is about controlling people. I spend way more time thinking about god than most people who don't go to church ever. Thousands of years ago people used shamanism to find out about god and the nature of the universe for themselves. Nowadays people want the answers spoonfed to them.

It may have been the biggest bullshit 100 years ago. Now it's not even close.

The biggest bullshit in 2018 is that your vote counts anywhere in the world.

If votes could change anything they'd be illegal.

I think certain religions are simply a way to control people and get money from them. Some religions, like Wiccan (paganism) and Taoism, are more of a “way” and seem very positive and healthy.

I saw a comic about that in Mad magazine years ago.
This lady was talking to someone about how she likes paganism because there is no church trying to take your cash and whatever.
Anyways in the last panel, we see her talking to a cashier at a new age store and he is quoting a price for all the pagan tools of the trade she is buying.

So much for a religion that doesnt want your cash
