Basicly, on the sex section of this site and other sites, there are always girls asking about what to do with an unwanted baby, but i never see them mention abortion. I don't understand why though, it's easier than putting a child up for adoption and taking care of an unwanted baby...
And for the people stating that is wrong to abort. Really?!?! I don't see any of you guys looking to adopt kids, really Now?!? You're going to physically, emotionally, and financially be there for the parent and child?!?!? So once the mother can't even support her child and or herself. Let's say no government help is available!! Then what?!?!?
Abortion is never wrong! The reason that some people don't concider it an option is probably because they have been raised by "pro life" idiots.

Married couple become pregnant with what tests out to be a damaged fetus. Raising said fetus as a child would economically cripple them and prevent said couple from having more children. Couple abort fetus, then proceed to have two healthy, wonderful children that would not have otherwise existed. They now live a wonderful life on a lake. One child saves lives as a surgeon, the other is a college professor.
Unwed mom has one child despite pleas from all relatives to consider alternatives (yes, abortion). Keeps children, drops out of high school and never achieves anything. Becomes abusive. Child opens meth lab, suspect in two murders, samples a bit too much product and dies 2007.
Young girl gives birth to female baby. Gives the child up for adoption. Child turns 25, hunts down "her real mom" and shows up on doorstep. Instills so much guilt in birth mom over "abandoning her" that birth mom goes off deep end. It breaks up birth mother's marriage and destroys her career and life. Several suicide attempts (unsuccessful, thank god) and much therapy follow.

The first three are (or were) relatives of mine. I have lived through and seen the effects of abortion, keeping an unwanted-unplanned child and adoption. What you see above are all usual outcome. Life is about cause and effect.
I love the people that live these clean little lives pronouncing judgement upon others. You twist the bible to say whatever fits your agenda that day, be it abortion or taxes or obscene volumes of wealth. You condemn people for sex. Of course you never have to live with the consequences. If a girl gets pregnant they are a dirty whore and it's their own damn fault. They should raise the child as punishment. Heard that before. I love that--a child as punishment.
When a man has a baby they can make that call. until then shut the fuck up.
Why do you feel the need to bring religion in this? Also why such like horrible scenarios that aren't always necessarily true? I am atheist/agnostic yet I don't believe abortion is right. Talk about judging. I believe all life is sacred and no one has the right to kill. Especially not a human fetus.

carolann, ILU. There are few things I hate as much as these pro-lifers who condemn women for having abortions, but also love to bash on "welfare moms" and teenage girls who have babies. Obviously they're all "sluts" who should be punished by being forced to carry through with an unwanted pregnancy. Never mind that this isn't fair to the mother, or the child who's unwanted. Never mind that sometimes birth control FAILS (this has happened to a number of my relatives - luckily they all were in stable relationships and were ready to take on the responsibility of having a child). Fuck that. If you're going to condemn women for having abortions, then have the balls/ovaries to put your money where your mouth is, and actually support unwed mothers who need the financial and emotional support, instead of bashing them and trying to make them feel horrible no matter what decision they make. Or adopt a child, instead of complaining about "welfare moms". There are so many pro-lifers who just get their rocks off from judging others. I don't have a problem with Catholics, at least intellectually. They really have a legitimate "pro-life" agenda. They're against capital punishment, starving children, etc. THey're mostly honest in their view. It's the anti-abortion idiots I don't like because they're all such terrible hypocrites. They just make me want to go out and have unprotected sex with dozens of men.

to me, the issue isn't whether or not abortion is wrong or right. if a women doesn't want to abort her baby, then that's her choice. unless it's your child, how does someone not aborting a baby affect you?

Does anyone even realize how often birth control FAILS? How easy it is for a condom to break. BCPs fail if the girl doesn't take them at the same time every day. Diaphragms fall out, and the shot is a dangerous dose of hormones, as is plan b. Not to mention all birth control except condoms and diaphragms does unbelievable damage to the female body. But you're all condemning everyone who had an accidental pregnancy. Guess what? Mankind isn't infallible and neither are you. I could've been an abortion too, and i honestly don't give a fuck! If I never existed I wouldn't have known anything anyway, no harm no foul. Sometimes it's the right choice. The thing is, we have to stop judging who can have abortions based on some ancient biblical principal, it had to be situational.
Like If the child has a defect.
If the mothers life is in danger (doctors worry more about the child than the mother if there are complications)
If there's no way in hell she can afford the pregnancy
If the child would end up having a shitty life

totally normal, fetuses don't have thoughts and such. so how can a fetus want to live? besides its the womans choice whether she wants to push out an 8 lb ball or get one cut out of her.

Just going to add that several doctors that preform abortions have been murdered by pro-life nuts. So is the doctor's life worth less than the babies that are being aborted? i think it should be allowed in some cases, like in the case of incest, if the child's life is at risk, or if the mother's life is at risk because if the mother dies, the child will grow up w/out a mom. but other than that, i think babies have the right to live. even if i got pregnant and didn't want it, i'd keep it and try to take care of it. but that's just my views on it.

I think so long as abortion is legal, which i think it will stay in the future... and as statistic's show rates of incidence will increase, we should really follow our own moral guidelines to what we feel is comfortable in terms of the length into a pregnancy we would allow until abortion isn't an option.
Sometimes having a child can change someone's life for the positive, sometimes the opposite...
I feel like If I have a child I want it to have the best possible start in life, so I want to wait to maybe have them.
What bothers me the most is the opinion that is only the WOMAN'S responsibility and decision to choose...

and I think is correct for the mother to chose. the father of the baby should give her helpful and strong advice but only that, its the mothers body not his, if she wants to harm herself she can do it, but hurting a future baby?, thats not ok (my opinion)..
I was pregnant at 17, I was going to have an abortion but I listened to pro-life morons who talked me out of it. I regret not having the abortion now because I now need surgery on damage that was caused by the birth. I`m not a natural mother so I had it adopted. Iv`e noticed that when a woman gets pregnant in a soap opera on tv, you can bet that even if she doesn`t want the baby, shell` decide against abortion. This is anti- abortion prpaganda by the scriptwriters.
Im glad no one mentions abortion. Its absolutely ridiculous and should be illegal EVERYWHERE! You are killing a poor, innocent baby. if you only a few days/weeks pregnant its not as bad. But once that child is starting to develop, Its fucking murder. If you dont want the kid, put it up for adoption. Most people who get an abortion feel terrible and depressed after. You know what else is terrifying? A heart transplant. They have to make a long incision in your chest. Then they perform a procedure known as sternotomy, in which they "crack" open the patient's chest by splitting the breast bone. They then put in place a retractor which forces the rib cage apart. I agree. Getting an abortion doesnt mean your not a parent. It just means your the mother/father of a DEAD baby.
I don't care either way. I've had an abortion, and if that means I'm the parent of a dead baby, so be it. I did not have any sympathy or connection to that baby. Babies are disgusting parasites. For the time I was pregnant, it was the most miserable time of my life. I was extremely happy after my abortion.
ive had a couple abortions made a few mistakes i have a child because i felt that time when i was pregnant something told me to keep her even though i wasnt with her dad i had a couple abortions after that to keep my focus on her now i am pregnant and this time i feel i should keep this one ppl should just go with their instincts you should be able to decide YOUR life it is yours before a baby is born
Right, as someone who has had this arguement many times i need to clarify some points. A fetus is not sentient, until it is born it a parasite. A sybiotic orgasm that lives off the mother. It has no rights, thoughts, feelings or opinions. It is the responsiblility of the mother.

Wrong, the two supporting passage that pro-lifers use are "all life is sacred" so i suppose that rules out eating meat, insect spray and anti-bacterial wipes. No of course it doesn't because you can make it mean wahtever you want.
Two is a passage that roughly says "if a man should strike a women and cause her fruit to pass from her then he should surely be put to death". A passage that is at best loosely relevant.
You know what is "intrinstically evil" religion telling people how evil contraecption then condeming them from removing unwanted pregnanies. Face facts it isn't 1432 anymore. We don't have to believe the garbage that priests spout. They are out of touch and irrelevant.
I may be male but i will fight tooth and claw for women's right to choose. Because it will ulitmately effect them and not some church group. Just the same as i fight for legal euthanasia and gay marriage. Outdated pointless dogma that impeeds social progress and degrades society.
