Is it normal that i think most 80s cartoons were crap?

Putting nostalgia-glasses aside, 80s cartoons were total horseshit for the most part. Almost all cartoons back then were made with the sole purpose of selling action figures, so what we got were tons of similar-looking cartoons trying extremely hard to be cool, but which instead end-up being cringeworthy. The cartoons might be a bit nostalgic indeed, but that's their only reedeming value. 95% Of cartoons made back then were soulless, unmemorable, commercialistic junk. That changed in the 90s though when cartoons finally got their souls back.

    There was a lot of rubbish with no effort put into them, but the stuff that is still remembered to this day is deserving of it. Things like He-Man and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

    The 80s were arguably the greatest decade for Japanese animation ( anime ). But western animation was indeed lacking then.

    I love old cartoons. Felix the Cat before he could talk was so good! The quality is better and the music is like an entire orchestra.

    Everything from that decade was crap.

    The 60s, 70s, and 90s were the only reasonable decade of that horrid century

      Yeah, most of that century was actually crap now when I think about it. Especially the 1910s, 1930s and 1940s.

        And I really hate anything 80s. That decade seemed creepy.

        I think the 3 mentioned were awesome.

          The 10s, 30s and 40s, really? The 10s had the Titanic disaster, WW1 and the spanish flu, the 30s had the great depression and the 40s had WW2.
