Iin, that i think it's ridiculous to call cancer patients "warriors"?

I mean seriously... these people aren't "warriors." They don't have bulging muscles like the Rock did in "The Scorpion King", they don't walk around with broadswords and battle-axes, and their destiny isn't to "wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow."
What they ARE is terrified unfortunates, who are SUBMITTING themselves to painful, weakening, mutilating, and unreliable treatments for the financial benefit of others. Indeed, if they weren't mostly SHEEP (rather than "warriors") they'd be heading to Mexico or Germany for suppressed-in-America procedures which are far less destructive to their bodies than the radiation/surgery/chemo pushed on them by mainstream American doctors. Meanwhile, the drug companies laugh all the way to the bank while they make sure their barbaric poisons are the only choice most Americans get, and the insurance companies refuse to pay for anything else (even if it's 10x cheaper than the mainstream options.)
In light of all this, it's silly to call most cancer patients "warriors." Scared, easily gulled "sheep" is more appropriate IMHO.

It is a metaphor for their inner struggle and not meant to be literal.

That's a very insensitive thing for you to say, they are warriors in the sense that they are fighting this disease that is ravishing their body rather just roll over and not go down without a fight. Do you have a medical degree to be recommending that they go to.Mexico or Germany? Do you know the cancer patients' specific case and the treatment that would be best for them? Do you have a loved one that has/had cancer? If your answers are no then please kindly shut up about this matter. I've seen countless relatives succumb to cancer and they fought and held object for as long as they could, they were warriors.

These people are subjecting themselves to painful procedures because they want to LIVE. So you're saying they're sheep because they follow the doctor's advice? bullshit! If a doctor tells you to undergo a certain procedure you DO IT because they are trained professionals who have dealt with a lot of cancer cases. Of course you will do some research of your own but generally the trust is put in the doctor.

I think that you are saying all this because you have never seen someone you love suffering of cancer. I had an aunt who was dying of a cancer and she was there lying on her bed and wanting to die because the pain was unbearable and she wanted to live because her only grandson was one month old.

Another aunt got a breast cancer and went to Mauritius for treatment. None of her children could go with her and she stayed in a public hospital for six months before returning here. I don't know how she dealt with the treatment, with the loneliness and with the financial constraint but she has made it through.

I'm very sad about the way you view people with cancer because no matter how we call them, they are just people who don't want to die. Isn't that a good fight?

Yes, it is insensitive, but like you've mentioned, the person hasn't experienced what you or anyone else with a cancer survivor has. He was asking a question, I don't think he was trying to offend anyone. But I am truly sorry for your sufferings.

I do understand where you're coming from. Warriors usually make the choice to become warriors. People with cancer do not have a choice, they HAVE to fight it or else they'd die or become very ill.
I wouldn't call them sheep and some of them aren't scared at all.
If I had cancer (which I do believe I will develop at some point, I have been diagnosed with a disease that can develop into cancer) I know I wouldn't want to be treated as a 'cancer patient'. There's nothing worse than people not being able to laugh at you and people waiting on you hand and foot just because you have cancer. I would want to be treated like a normal, healthy person. People shouldn't kiss the ground I walk on just because I have cancer. The disease doesn't magically turn me into a saint, I will still do shitty, bitchy things.

    • Do you have HPV or something? HPV can develop into cervical cancer. The only cure is to stick your whole tongue up someone's butt.

      • More than 50% of people have it.

Most HPV infections (90%) go away by themselves within two years.

Gee get a grip !! Their called warriors because they fight a deadly disease that your body and willpower has to struggle through ! Clearly u don't understand or want to. The definition of a warrior is not muscle it's fighting. Plus it's only a nickname to make suffers feel stronger and families happier. I'm not sayin they do all the work of course medication does but they deserve the name warrior!!!
