Humans are parasites, and Earth is our host.
No one has ever brought this concept up before, ever, in any book, movie or other medium. No college student has ever come to this conclusion about halfway through their sophomore year.
Clearly you dont see how hard mother nature is fighting back. Humans are just the logical conclusion to evolution. A species that instead of living in the environment as is, changes it for their own benefit.
Humans are like ants. Individually we are weak as hell. Together we become the apex of everything. We are not parasites, we are just like everything else in nature, we are just currently the best at it.
Parasites are the parasites of the earth you dildo, it’s not like tape worms live on mars instead.
Humans are humans.
Yes, but humans might also be the only thing that ends up saving the Earth.
Leave this overused bitchy whining on Reddit only, please. You ain't fucking special for thinking that you're a human garbage that slowly destroys this earth.
Cool, man. Let's terraform other planets. Then, we can get in our rockets and go parasitically exploit them as well.
I think it's fairly normal in the modern age; I don't think it's right though. We're the apex species of the world, possibly the galaxy. Out of all of Earth's children we are by far the most glorious. We take liberties because we have conquered nature. We just need to control the liberties we take in order to sustain it.
We arent apex individually but collectively hell yes we are. Humans rank on the same level as pigs, so pretty high on the food chain still just not the top.
Now give a human some friends and baseline gear and yeah they can take on something larger or more ferocious.
As a side note: how much cumulative knowlage does a group of humans know? If you took 100 humans and put them in an isolated wilderness and told them to figure it out, assuming that they dont die from infighting or a disease or something, how far technologically could they go within 5 years? I'm thinking we are at a level of knowledge that would accelerate that group to iron age pretty quickly.
Just some shit I think about when I'm high af
Nobody harms or has harmed the Earth the way humans have. So your reaction is justified. Humankind is the most evil creature on the planet. You are all perfectly at liberty to disagree but I think the events of the last few days have proved my point.
in a way, sure
but other species also use the Earth's resources, we just do it on a larger scale because we're able to
Humans are generally good imitators... Parasites tend to live off the efforts of others.
Yes, there is a noticeable portion of the human race - in all cultures - that act in a noticeably parasitic fashion.
You dont notice how humans act like ants at all? Ants go to war with eachother all the time. Conquer territory and expand. Since ants are the most numerous insect species what would happen if that kind of social structure was applied to a mammal thus supporting an even larger ability to retain knowlage? Humans.
