Is it normal that i still have a mad crush on a girl i got rejected by?

We have known each other for 5 years. We are very close friends, but it's only until October that I've begun to like her more than a just friend, just for the simple fact she is different from most girls I've come across, I guess that's what we all say.
So I take a shot at it, and she says She rather be friends. Sure rejection sucks but I was going to end up regretting it if I didn't ask since she is going to different college than me. But naturally with my somewhat motherly like features, I still REALLY like her even if she said no. Since then we haven't even talk, and things have just turned awkward between us that I think we can't really fix it, but STILL I get those... "Butterflies" In my belly.

  • You should at least continue to talk to her, Re- friend her and she could very well change and grow feelings for you.

Agree with shorty, but tread carefully. I was in your exact situation and it's tough as hell to go through. Become her friend but accept the fact that you can only be her friend, for now. Its possible one day she'll get feelings for you. However if you find yourself hurting too much then I think you need to distance yourself enough to get over these feelings. If you don't you could end up being hurt even worse. Trust me I made that mistake, and I wouldn't wish that kind of heartache on anybody. You need to do whats best for you, good luck.
