Is it normal that i sever connections to ppl that arent in driving distance?

If I can't see or have a conversation in person with someone I don't have any interest to call/text/just keep in touch with them. It's almost like they don't matter to me anymore because I can't feel them next to me. Even when I went to Arkansas for a few months, I Can probably count on both hands all the times I talked to my sisters, (I'm super close with them by the way) the rest of my family didn't get a single phone call! And when I came back, I didn't call ANY of the people I grew close with there. Not even my best friend has heard from me! When I finished school I made NO effort to keep in touch with my fellow classmates and friends. I just Sever all connection to the people that arent in driving distance, and I don't feel bad about it or anything! PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who does this! I don't do it on purpose and I feel so weird about it, like I'm a heartless person or something <:C

Just the fact you grammatically exaggerated and emphasised things makes this look really fake, or you realise how ridiculous this is..
Obviously some family, recent friends, short-term neighbours etc, don't require contact after you leave, but when you say 'EVEN my sisters' it shows you know this isnt right.

    • .. This isn't fake (That's actually just how I type, because I want people to understand what I'm talking about) But.. That kinda doesn't answer my question.. Maybe If I re-phrase it differantly?

Haha I know what you mean. Don't worry though. I think as time passes, we'll get that urge to call them again!!

Well hey guess what? I know exactly how you feel. Sure it sounds jerkish, and such but I feel no need to call old friends when they're not so close or if I don't see them anymore. I do think about them, however, and miss them. You should try what I do. At least call, not all the time, but just to keep something there... some relationship. Perhaps over time, we'll get that kick to keep in touch more often:)

    • I'M NOT ALONE!!! :D I've tried to talk to them but I normally pick up the phone dial in the first 6 digits than put it down and go do something fun.. like watch paint dry... Thats fun lol And I DO think about them, but I guess I end up with an exaggerated memory of them and feel like calling and remembering how they really are kinda ruins the illusion :/

I'm saying you've already recognised it's abnormal, so why not change it? Otherwise what's the point in asking if you weren't thinking of changing if we all said no.
