Is it normal that i remember something that happened years ago?

Sometimes I remember things that happened over 10 years ago, people think it's weird that I somehow remember all of this.

Is this very normal for me?

  • Well like duh. I remember shit from 35 years ago but can't remember 35 seconds ago...what was the question?

  • I'm 71 and still remember many things clearly from when I was 4! You will too if you live that old, as said, it's how memory works.

  • It's extremely normal to remember things from long ago in your life, and I'm not sure why anyone would think otherwise.

People often cannot believe that I have memories dating back to when I was 2 (though admittedly, they're brief and really nothing of much significance at that age; just random memories). That was 23 years ago, so 10 years ago is no problem at all.

  • It's almost like it's a long term memory

  • I remember a scene vividly from when I was around 6. I dropped my milkshake my parents bought me from the shops, I was absolutely devastated and wanted to cry.

  • If something made any sort of impact, yeah you can remember probably for life. Even if it was some mundane moment, something causes us to remember.

  • I’m concerned if they don’t remember stuff from 2010, that’s what isn’t normal.

  • I still hold a grudge against the kid who punched me in the face on the first day of preschool.
