Is it normal that i pronounce 'graham' as 'gray hum?'

People sometimes complain about it, but I pronounce 'Graham' as 'Gray hum' and sometimes as 'Gray yum'. It just makes sense to me that way and I have no knowledge of what would possess someone to name their child 'Gram,' as though the person were a unit of measure.

    Say 'Cool'.

    Now say 'Whip'.

I compromise and pronounce it as once syllable, but with a long A ("graym"). Your pronunciation is probably closer to the original though.

    I also say Gray Uhm.

That extra "ha" in Graham isn't for decoration.
