Is it normal that i pretend to wash my hands when others are in the restroom?

Sometimes I just don't feel like washing my hands after using the restroom. However, I don't want to be seen as that guy to walk out of the bathroom and not wash his hands. So, depending on the situation, I find myself spending the time to "Fake Wash" when others are in the restroom with me. Essentially, I tap-tap the soap dispenser - but don't use soap. I then turn on the water - but don't get my hands wet. Then I go through the motions of drying my... dry dirty hands. I don't why, but I prefer to fake this routine, rather than get my hands wet even though it takes the same amount of time. My routine all depends on if someone is in the stall (out of sight) or in view of my hand washing routine. If they are in the stall, all you are hearing are the sounds of my "Fake Washing". I even let the water run for about 5-10 seconds. Is this normal?

    why not just wash your hands.... I mean all that effort for fake washing could be actually used to wash - btw: I used to do the same thing on occasion, and then realized how rediculous it was

    there's a guy at my job that does this. pretends to wash his hands most of the time (sometimes he doesn't even pretend) and then comes to my desk, trying to play with my pens and touch my monitor. so fucking nasty yucko. and I'm somewhat of a germaphobe. i think God created him to punish me.

    wow that is so sad that you would go through all of that to pretend to wash your hands when you could just be clean and wash the shit from underneath your finger nails. why spread your shit germs everywhere?

      You might want to post if that is normal or not...

      The key to success is a good barrier. This can be accomplished by a good folding technique, or doubled up wad (with no gaps). If you are lucky, you might even just get a one-wiper out of the deal.

      Sometimes I am so happy about they days that I have a one-wiper, I forget to wash my hands!!!

    hahaha i do this EVERYTIME. the reason is i HATE washing my hands. The feeling i get after my hands are wet is terrible.

    I do this too, except I just let the water run if there are just people in the stalls, not outside watching me. I don't need to wash my hands after I've wiped, it's not like I'm shitting on my hands and rubbing it all over my vagina.

    I usually only wash if someone is around. I discretely observed men in a public restroom one time, and I'd say almost everyone of maybe 15 simply wet one hand for 1 second and didn't dry it and walked out to be with their family at the zoo!
