I'm a 19 year old girl, still a virgin, and I prefer masturbating alone to having someone I'm attracted to help me, through sexting or any actual physical contact. When it comes to my openness with my sexuality I'm comfortable to talk about anything with anybody but when it comes to satisfying and calming my arousal, I find it easier to share pics or a fantasy with a stranger or a person who I only have sexual conversations with than doing so with a guy who I have a personal, emotional connection to, even though the desire for the guy I care about is strongly there. It's like physically, I crave him but we never have sex and I always feel disinterested in sexting with him. If it's a man with whom the sole basis of the relationship was to help each other get off through pics and stories, whether it be a one time thing or a recurring thing, I have no problem engaging. Is this normal?

    It doesn't sound healthy, but I'm kind of similar in that I like orgasming alone. I would prefer a partner I cared about helping me though
