Is it normal that i only want one child?

I was thinking that once my life is sorted out and I settle down somewhere in a new home, I can have a child. The thing is, I only want one child (one reason being I'm single). I only want one kid because my experiences as a sibling were mediocre (IMO, anyway) and I believe being an Only Child would be a great experience for my daughter/son. The problem is, I'll be moving back to my birthstate so we won't have alot of relatives around. But! I'll try my hardest to socialize my child a good deal and get her/him into a lot of activities so my child can make alot of friends. So that ought to compensate for the lack of siblings as well as cousins. I just don't think I could handle raising 2 or more kids. It just seems more irksome and disheartening than wonderful I find.

I personally don't want kids but seems it might be better with 2 (after the diaper stage of course). They would have each other to play with at least when they're kids but then 2 teenagers. Eek! Okay, one sounds like perfection!
