Is it normal that i only fell in love now

So, I met this girl quite some time ago, 2 or 3 years, me and her had a few couple classes together, but I think I never felt anything for her. Now, me and her got together on a few other projects that make us spend much more time with eachother, though we aren't alone a lot. Only recently, have I started to fall in love with her, I was wondering if this was anyhow normal, I'm most likely friendzoned anyways, but I'm ok with a run for it...
