Is it normal that i might like my brother's bestfriend?

So recently my brother's bestfriend and I have been texting and I feel like he really understands me. He's really cute and funny and can really make me smile. My family and I recently hung out with him and other friends and we've kind of been staring at each other all night but in a friendly way. He told me about how he wants a girlfriend to understand him and everything and he has told me that he thinks I seem to get him and I do. I think I might be starting to like him but I don't want to start anything that would hurt my brother or the guy I might like. Plus I don't want to make things awkward between the three of us. Should I tell this guy I might like him or until I'm sure? Should I leave this alone for the sake of my brother? Am I just feeling like this cause I want to like someone? I mean why does it have to be my brother's bestfriend?

    The 'bro's bestfriend' thing got nothing to do with whom you might like.

    If you like him and you think the feeling is mutual then go for it. If you start going out with him it doesn't necessarily mean that things are going to get awkward between your brother and his friend.

    Just because it's your brother's best friend doesn't mean you can pursue what you desire. If you want it bad enough, go for it. Who is anyone to tell you you're wrong?
