Is it normal that i'm sick of sharing a room?

To make things clear, my roommate is my sister and she's a good roommate by most standards. We're not noisy, rarely leave a mess, and don't mess with each other's things.

It's only a bit of a pain that she doesn't like it when I eat in the room when she's there, (noisy chewer even with my mouth closed).

I'm just sick of having someone in the room all the time. If I leave the room, there's people all over the house too. It feels sort of smothering.

  • Totally normal. I would feel that way, too.

Totally normal, I’d feel the same way as you if I had to share a room for a long time.

    • Yeah, I've always shared a room with someone for my entire life, (big family).

I would be so annoyed sharing a room with anyone my whole life.

I feel for you. Except for when I lived in the dorms in college I haven't had to share a room with anyone since I was almost 10 years old. With regard to life in the dorms to be completely honest I would try to get a single room whenever possible.

My mom was strict and overly protective, and lots of annoying people have told me that I've been spoiled, but this is pretty much all I've ever known.
