Is it normal that i'm frustrated because of my brother?

I'm currently studying for my exams. Which, in my country, means a month and a half non-stop studying and therefore a lot of students go home for that period. My brother is also a student, but he decided to stop because he wants to go study something else next semester. My parents said it was fine, on the condition that he searched a job to do for that month and a half. A month has passed and he has not even tried looking for a job. He wakes up at 2:30 pm and then he goes straight to his computer for gaming and repeats this the next day. I find this so frustrating, because he doesn't do anything at all. My parents don't understand why I'm so pissed of because of it. Is this normal?

Some people don't need to study much to pass their exams, I did chemistry with a guy who missed nearly every lesson for 2 years and then got the highest grade in the class simply because he memorised the revision book a couple of days before the exam.

I used to do that too and I always felt like I was throwing my life away. I am just working now at 22 years old and don't have any schooling (except high school of course) and I need to figure something out but it's not easy to find something you like for some people such as myself. I do agree though, he should at least work to keep him busy because those games are like drugs. I still play a lot but I also work but I want to go back to school the following semester. The one thing about working is you get comfortable with the income so you delay going back until you realize you're 30...

If you like the income without school why go back ever?

Sounds like you are jealous of your sibling. He gets away doing whatever he pleases while you have to bust your ass.
It's a pretty immature attitude, though. How would his busting his ass improve your life? Not the tiniest bit.
I think you need to concentrate on YOU and YOUR life and stop thinking about what your brother is doing. Time to grow up.

    • Yes, of course I'm jealous that he gets to do nothing when I'm studying all day long, pretty normal don't you think? Especially when I am the one who always sees him doing nothing. But it also pains me to see he's wasting his life away, because he's my brother. Maybe I do need to focus on my own life, but he's the ons who needs go grow up in my opinion.
