Is it normal that i'm always anticipating some sort of apocalyptic event?

I am always thinking of different scenarios that my family and I may not survive although most of them most would never dream might even come close to coming about where we live(though most of it is very much possible), such as war spilling over into our region, our government collapsing, the world running out of resources, massive natural disasters, and yes, of course the zombie apocalypse, and sometimes just one that includes intelligent, thinking cannibals. Is this normal or am I just to anxiety ridden?

I'm sort of obsessed with the ending of the world - have you seen "The Road" - I thought that was one of the most accurate apocalyptic movies.
I think about this often. I find it fascinating. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
BTW: I think its normal, especially given that people are ruining the planet at an alarming rate.

I didn't see the film but I did read the book. I thought it was pretty good. Food for thought!

I think given the state of our world at the moment, yes it is normal. but is it helpful? probably not. i would suffer a similar fear, the road terrorfied me. i no longer look at anything remotely like that, its not good for me.
    take care.

  • I have a plan, for when the shit hits the fan.

There are so many things that could disrupt transportation of food, fuel, or water, not just the catastrophic things you listed. Just a little blip in the transportation of the commodities that everyone relies on and you'd have absolute pandemonium.

There's a movie called The Trigger Effect (1996), it follows one family and the problems they face when their city's power goes out for days and they have a sick baby to protect and care for.
