Is it normal that i love taking apart certain foods?
I love picking apart food. Not in the way that I'm just picky and only like certain parts of food. I haven't had any eating disorder in the past. Chances are, I don't even eat the food I take apart. For me, it's just really relaxing to cut foods like green onions, garlic, hamburger patties, carrots, summer sausage, etc. apart and take out parts of it.
You know how when you cut up green onions, there are these circles that are leafy and green, but then there are parts that have smaller circles inside of them, maybe with something that looks like a tiny sprout? I love separating all the circles into piles. It just looks right.
With garlic, I love cutting it in half and taking out the germ. And you know how with carrots, if you harvest them a little late, then there's a spiky stem inside of them? Yeah, I always take that out too.
I remember that I was doing this since I was very young (I would never fully eat corn on the cob at my grandparents' house, just use a fork to remove the germ of the kernels.) I tried googling it, but all that came up was articles about kids that are picky eaters. This may have something to do with how I love organizing things, but only certain foods catch my interest in terms of picking them apart. Is this some kind of bizarre compulsive disorder? Is it a symptom of autism? Is it normal?
Jesus christ, this sounds really creepy.
