Is it normal that i listen to sleep hypnosis tracks to help with insomnia?

Like most busy/ stressing humans, I get insomnia on occasions; so to encourage myself to sleep, I will have apps on my phone that play sound tracks that are supposed to hypnotise you to sleep. Some work, some don't.

I told my work colleagues about this method of mine and they thought it was funny/ strange. They're entitled to their opinion, I'm not upset about it. I just want to know, is this really a strange way of getting to sleep? Does anybody else do this?

I used to listen to Jody whitley's youtube channel. The sleep hypnosis and relaxation vids were good but unfortunatly there were a lot of spiritualist vids too

There are worse things. Try to make sure you're not paying for that stuff though. If you get very far at all into that self-hypnosis thing you discover that there's a large number of hucksters out there.

Sounds to me like it would be the wisest method. I probably could have saved myself from many sleepless night if I had done this sooner.

I do that too, with tinnitus I really don't like the silence, and it helps.
