Is it normal that i like to feel or rub my feet on rough surfaces at all time

Hi. I'm new to this website. Nice to meet you all :)

I've been searching ups and downs but could never find what this condition is called nor any other people who has it. I'm always urged to touch or rub my feet or palms on textured or rough surfaces or materials, such as wood panel, concrete, hard sponges, etc.

I also can control my sweat glands whenever I want, as I can make my palms or feet sweat, to the point that they're dripping wet. This sweating process would happen 10 times faster, almost instantaneously, if I happen to find a rough surface to rub at the moment. I have excessive and cold sweat problem most of the time too. I just hope I'm not the only one.

I've had enough of it, people thinks my sweaty palms are disgusting. I have to drive bare feet to feel the rubber groves or texture of the accelerator pedal. I even replace my car because I like the way the accelerator feel on the new car. When I don't have anything I can touch, I get nervous. The sweat also ruins my life many times over. In my art classes, in my years as a photographer and an architect. Everything I touch gets wet and muddy. I have to wash my hands twenty times a day and feel like having an OCD, and it's very contradictory that I sweat a lot or go out and walk bare feet on my driveway in the middle of the night but I also am a clean freak, but that's another story.

I have to hide and touch things in secret when I'm in public places. My wallet is rough and I use it when I have no other choices. I don't have confident shaking hands with others (partly because I don't like touching other people at all). I can't use public computers and have to have lots of napkins in my bag at all time. My bedroom walls and under my desk at the office is plastered with rough material (cork pads, thick rough sponge sheets, even rough desktop computer panel.) at all times so that I can get by and concentrate on my work.

Sorry for the length of my post. Please advise or help if you know what this sensation is called and how to cure it. Thanks much!

Wow! Im normal! At least im not alone experiencing or wanting these kind of habit or mannerism.

When i was in college days, i used to bring my rug intended only for my feet.i also have a favorite place of tambayan in school in which the chair is made of wood and i'd love to rub my foot on it.

When i started working as an ofc staff, i used empty sack. I have this under my table so i could rub my feet.

Now on my current work, i use empty box to rub my feet.

I dont know but i cant work properly without rubbing my feet on any rough textures. My hands are very dry that makes me feel uncomfortable, feels like my fingers are freezy. Everytime i rub my feet on any rough textures,my hands get sweat and moistured.

Me too I like to be on rough surfaces like carpets and rag. My bed is rough and I can't sleep without getting on rough surfaces. It gives me a certain pleasure. I hate smooth surfaces like silk, smooth bedding and leather surfaces. I just wonder that, is this certain habit is a disorder?

    P.S.
Rough surfaces give me a certain pleasure. The time when your feet and hands rubs against them. Ohh it feels really good! Haha! :)

Actually I'm like that too, i can't sleep without my rough pillow case, but only when i sleep, i manage to control it when I'm out.

Actually not so long ago i tried to hide my pillow case and sleep without it, but i woke up in the middle of the night, and feel very uncomfortable that its like i never felt water ever since.....i really want to get rid of this because, im ashamed to let other people know about this

I also have that too. I like mosquito net, foot stockings, concrete and anything rough. I don't like smooth things like silk. I feel good if I'm doing that. I think this is normal, cause some of my friends have this kind of habit.

I just started researching about this today and I came across this forms. I’m very happy to hear that there are other people like me. :)))

I always rubbing my legs on rough textures fabric when I go to sleep, it help me to feel relax and calm. I don’t know how to describe the feeling, you just have this feeling of relief. I love touching and rubbing my hands and legs on rough textures fabric when I’m not sleeping too.

I love rubbing my legs on rough textures but only on fabric like bed sheet, couch, chair, pillow, car seats, blanket and carpet.

I also have excessive sweating on my hands and feet, that I can’t control. (Hyperhidrosis Disorder)

I have Autism and I know people with Autism does stimming to help them feel relax and help with their anxiety. There is all form of stimming in Autism. Could rubbing my legs and hands on rough textures be a form of stimming?

Sensory sensitivities on texture or something?

I did some research and it says that some people with Autism like to stroke items with particular textures.

Does anyone else here have Autism like me too?

    - FYI this is a throw away account. Also this is my first time writing on a form.
